Family Finale!

So, Miss Tillie ended her big birthday with a bang...steak dinner and candlelight with the fam!  It was actually a dual celebration for your's truly and the little one so that is where the steak came in.  Since we don't live in the same town as our families, it's always SO fun to get together and SO special!  Makes leaving hard....but, we're beyond blessed to have such a wonderful city and friends to come home to!

Free as a bird!

Making sure we get every angle of her new wheels!

"Uncle dearest, have I told thee how much I love thee?"

Big Kid Table
Who knew it took 4 people to extinguish a strawberry cake?

'Til next year, Birthday Fairy!  Hope you can top 2!!!

February Fun

Going to keep the words in this post to a minimum....
This past week has been full of fun...a Mentone getaway with sweet friends...Valentine's lovin' (and donuts, can't slight them)...birthdays...and balloons!  I'll let the pics do the talking...
Who knew there was world-class skiing in Mentone, AL?!?  Wonders shall never cease....  The sweet Lord saw us coming and decided to make our weekend a little more complete with some artificial snow, burrryyyy temperatures and warm fires!!!  Such fun memories!
Mary Drew, Amelia and Tillie.  Good thing they didn't have their hearts set on building Frosty...

Warming their paws by the fire after a long-morning of analyzing the slope from the bottom:) Maybe next year we'll tackle ole' Cloudmont!

On to Valentine's...

Off to Memphis to celebrate Tillie's 2nd, my 31st and Mom's 59th with the family.  Stay tuned!

"Happy, Happy To You"

Two years ago today I checked in to the hospital to be rehydrated from the stomach bug...and checked out 48 hours later with my precious Tillie girl!  And oh...what a joy she is to have for a daughter!  She has taught me more in these two short years about appreciating and embracing each and every unique quirk that makes us who we are.  I went into child # 2 thinking it was going to be a re-run of Amelia and boy was I wrong.  Amazing what it takes to teach us some of life's simplest lessons... In our case it has been, duct-taping diapers, crib tents and poison control calls....none of which we had the joy of experiencing with Amelia.  BUT, it has also been filled with uncontrollable laughs, mind-blowing tales, heart-melting moments and the sweetest hugs one can encounter on this side of the Mason-Dixon.  Tillie is spirited and happy...full-throttle but a fun-haver....she loves people and loves to entertain...she is tender and loving...and, best of all, she is mine (for a while, at least)!  Words cannot describe how thankful and humbled I am that God chose us to parent this little life...
So...."Happy, Happy to You" as you like to say, Tillie dear!

Running through the streamers the "Birthday Fairy" left behind!
Do y'all have a Birthday Bear?  He sings "Happy Birthday" and we pull him out every birthday... The girls LOVE him!
Amelia was uber-excited to celebrate Tillie!  Nice 'do', huh?
Perched on her birthday throne...
Celebrating herself!!! Got to love that!

Glad we don't need to buy 2!

Catching Up

Well, the Treadwells seemed to skip right over January here in blog land.  Maybe it's because it has felt like a rainy Groundhog Day more days than not...or because I've been hibernating in yoga pants and t-shirts while baby # 3 got good and nested in my womb...or maybe, just maybe it's because of El Nino...  I don't know, but needless to say, Waffle House has been the extent of our outings these days.  (Yes, we went twice in one weekend while our plumbing was out...only a pregnant woman on her third go around would admit to that!)  That is, until last weekend.  Hunt headed west to AR for a little farewell weekend with his migratory friends and my parents headed south to B'Ham to treat us to the Circus!  What a fun, fun night we had with the girls, spinning elephants, tight-rope-riding motorcycles, hair-dangling acrobats, and cotton candy...lots of cotton candy.  Dad spoiled us rotten and it was so much fun! To be honest, I didn't think Tillie would make it 10 minutes but she outlasted us all.  Why am I not surprised?  If you did not make it or have not been in the last two decades much like myself, catch the next show you can.  It truly is the greatest show on Earth...

Since I have been out of practice with my camera as of late, I only captured a couple shots.  The others are from the rest of the weekend with my parents and a couple of odds & ends.

Clowning around...

Yes, that's a tiger on top of a disco ball.  Completely normal, right?
Mesmerized!
Having a BIG time under the Big Top!
Tillie on top of the couch... just keeping an eye on things outside. (In her princess dress, of course!)
Park time.  They would hold hands and go down together every time!
Tillie and her hard hat at the Kangaroo exhibit.

Happy New Year and Happy first day of February, friends!
