Old Friends...New Toys...Good Times!

Memorial Weekend Fun!

We've been weekend warriors lately and start the next 3-weekend-in-a-row-jaunt this week...so, it was nice to have a long weekend at home!  However, seems like we're always here when everyone else is gone.  Sure is strange to see the streets of Homewood so quiet... Not at our house!  Our dearest buds, the McFarland's, made a pit stop Friday night on their way to the beach.  Burgers and ice cream were on the menu and the kids wore it well...don't you think!?!

Never thought we could squeeze 4 adults and 4 kids under this roof but it was rather cozy...and full of laughter!  Beyond blessed that these four love each other as much as they do! Sure makes life easy on us adults as weekend's together will ALWAYS be on our itinerary.  The distance keeps us apart daily but never apart in the heart!  Already counting down the days 'til we see them next...

Sassy also made a pit stop at our house last week and left behind some inflatable paraphernalia...  Non-stop giggles and soggy bottoms ensued this Memorial Day Weekend!

World's Best Dad!

Couldn't let the girls have ALL the fun...  This mommma stayed propped up in her chair with ice tea and camera in hand!  (That third-person is for you, Molly!)

Just Peachy!

Off to Chilton Co we will go....

Don't you just adore the fruits of summer?  Those ripe, juicy bites that gush out and always leave you with a sense of utter satisfaction.  I can't seem to get enough and neither can these girls.  We started with strawberries in April, moved on to peaches this May and are anxiously awaiting the blueberry bushes to burst forth in June.  There is just something raw and pioneer-like to be out there scavenging your own harvest...
Yet another eye-opener into the ever-sustaining, amazingly creative and perfectly delicious character of our God!

Camping, Beaching and Boating

We spent the last 10 days traversing the state of AL.  We started off camping at DeSoto State Park with our small group and finished off on the Alabama Gulf Coast with our Sassy!  We hiked, climbed, built sand castles, boated around the bay, ate, ate and ate some more.  I guess I forgot that I was still pregnant because mid-week I started swelling like a hot air balloon from all the shellfish I had consumed.  Sure love me some shrimpies and crab claws!!!

Enjoy the pics!

Camping...

I hate that I didn't document our sleeping arrangements for the night.  The girls and I (along with the 7 month belly) slept in a 2-man tent (yes...wife.of.the.year) while Hunt slept under the stars.  It was comical to say the least... Only took me 2 hours to get the girls to sleep!

Beaching...

Cheers of joy!
Zooing....

Cloudy day ahead so we zoo'ed it at the Gulf Coast Zoo and lunched at the Hangout!  Even got to pet the baby kangaroos...and feed the animals!

All Things Bright & Beautiful!

I'm a little behind on this post but we left for the beach the next day so I am just now getting back into the swing of things.  Amelia had her first ballet recital April 28th and it was "bright and beautiful!" These little girls sure made some mommas and daddys proud...and had quite a time being the belles of the ball. As you will soon see, they strutted around like the proud little peacocks they were and had smiles plastered from ear to ear.  What a treat to see the gift of dance and creativity unfold in their little lives!

Beware....excessive photo montage below!

Do you see the resemblance?  Saw this guy at the zoo and Amelia was beyond excited to meet her match!

Amelia and Mary Drew locked up as usual

Sweet Mary Alton and Amelia showcasing their skill.  This is NOT their first recital together....they danced in their momma's belly's as Grace & I tapped on stage 6 months pregnant!!!  One day they will appreciate those pictures...or be mortified by them:)!
Rehearsing together...in their own little world!
Don't these smiles just pull at your heartstrings?!?
And these looks?!?
Our trio!
Amelia's big debut...

Amelia's fan club!  Foxie, Pops and Aunt Frannie made a special trip down... Pops was off wrangling Tillie and missed out on this photo!

Thrilled with their flower shower!
