I Choose Life

Death certainly has a way of making you appreciate life.  I know that sounds like a rather obvious statement but in our merry-go-round way of life we seldom jump off and open our eyes wide at life until death is staring us in the face.  At least for me, I can get so caught up in the routine of my days, my weeks, my years that I seldom stop to think about the mystery of life.

This past week, our family made an unexpected trip to Memphis to celebrate the life of 2 amazing men:  my husband's grandfather and my dearest friend's father.  It was an emotional week, a tiresome week,  and a heart wrenching week but in the midst of it all, life was celebrated.  It was celebrated as family and friends gathered together; it was celebrated as we reminisced about the days gone by; it was celebrated as we looked upon the lives created and shaped by these fine men; it was celebrated as new life babbled and crawled about; and, most importantly, it was celebrated as we gazed upon the cross!  Without death, the cross is meaningless.  But because of death, the cross means life to all who believe!

This Easter was a beautiful reminder that death has been defeated and life is found at the cross!

Here are some pics from our week...
